Rockstar’s GTA VI site identifies PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the launch platforms. Rockstar support gives a November 12, 2026 local-midnight preload start, a November 19 release, and the edition formats. It does not supply a final GB figure in the sources reviewed for this update.

When a first-party listing gives a number, the useful record includes its platform, whether it describes download or storage, and the date checked. A figure for one console should not automatically become a requirement for the other.
Download size is not the same as installed size
Download size describes network transfer. Installed size describes the game’s stored files. The console’s required-free-space message can reflect what it needs to complete the installation. Compression, updates and platform packaging can make these figures different.

Why comparison-based GB predictions are weak
GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are not size specifications for GTA VI. Different assets, compression and platform versions can change storage needs. A screenshot of a placeholder, a leak-folder total or a confident thumbnail is not equivalent to Rockstar publishing the requirement.
Preparation is more useful than choosing a rumor. Measure the free space you have now. Test several hypothetical sizes if that helps you understand the trade-off. Keep those results labelled as scenarios and replace the input with the official figure when available.

- Check available space on the drive that can run the game.
- Measure a realistic sustained download speed.

- Allow time for installation and any later update.

Physical and PC follow-up questions
