WhenGTA6 would rather publish a short official list than a long unofficial one. A rumor never becomes confirmed because it is popular. This page is the house rule for every other article on the site.
The practical checklist that uses these labels is What GTA VI features are actually confirmed?. If a claim is not on that list and not in a first-party sentence, it does not get confirmed voice here.
The labels
| Label | Meaning | Example on this site |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmed | Rockstar or Take-Two published it | November 19, 2026; $79.99 USD; dual protagonists |
| Shown | Official trailer or screenshot includes it, without a full spec | Basketball; vehicle customization shops |
| Reported | A named outlet reports it; first-party copy is still missing | Used only if that situation exists — not for vibes |
| Rumor | Unofficial, anonymous, or unsourced | File-size guesses; invented PC months |
| Analysis | WhenGTA6 explaining a gap or a clock convention | Midnight Eastern; this page |
| Opinion | Taste or prediction | “You should buy a Pro” — not a spec |
Frontmatter factStatus uses confirmed, reported, rumor, analysis, or opinion. “Shown” is a body-text status for footage. It is still not a license to invent rules around the footage.
Source tiers
WhenGTA6 articles in this drop use tier 1 only:
- Tier 1 — first party: rockstargames.com/VI, Rockstar Newswire, Take-Two public statements.
- Tier 2 — platform holders: PlayStation or Xbox posts that do not contradict Rockstar. Not used as a substitute for a missing PC date.
- Tier 3 — reporting: Named journalists quoting a named briefing. Stays reported until tier 1 matches.
- Below that: screenshots of Discord, “my cousin,” datamines without Rockstar confirmation. Rumor.
If a claim has no URL on the official VI site and no Take-Two sentence, it does not enter the confirmed column. Period.
Official facts this rule is protecting

What we refuse to invent
The standing unknowns exist so people stop filling them in:
- PC — not announced (guide)
- 60 FPS — not confirmed (guide)
- PS5 Pro enhancements — not confirmed
- Crossplay / GTA Online for VI at launch — not announced
- File size — not announced
- Official square miles for Leonida — not published
- Character ages — not published
- Worldwide unlock-hour table — not published; midnight ET is a labeled assumption
- First-person camera — not confirmed (guide)
How a rumor page would work (when we add one)
A future rumor entry should state the claim, the first place it appeared, and the status. It should not rewrite the claim in confirmed voice. If Rockstar later confirms the same fact, the rumor page notes the upgrade and the confirmed features list gains a row. The rumor does not get to keep the word “confirmed” retrospectively without a date.
WhenGTA6 is not opening vehicle, weapon, or faction articles until those nouns are as solid as “Lucia Caminos” or “Port Gellhorn” — a first-party name, not a vibe.
What WhenGTA6 will not claim
- That a leak is “basically confirmed”
- That analysis upgrades itself
- That an internal link is evidence
- File sizes, PC months, FPS targets, or character ages
- Extra Leonida counties from fan atlases
Internal linking is not evidence
Linking Jason from a rumor write-up does not make the rumor official. Links are navigation. Sources are Rockstar and Take-Two.
Related WhenGTA6 pages
- Confirmed features — the short list
- Release date, PC, 60 FPS
- Map — shown names only
- Cal Hampton — a named screenshot, not a dossier
GTA V’s September 17, 2013 date is allowed only for wait math. It is not a license to import V’s feature list into VI.

FAQ
Does WhenGTA6 treat leaks as confirmed?
No. A leak is a rumor until Rockstar or Take-Two publishes the same fact.
What does source tier 1 mean?
First-party — Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive, including rockstargames.com/VI.
Can analysis become confirmed?
Only if a first-party source later states the claim. Analysis does not upgrade itself.
What does “shown” mean?
Official trailer or screenshot footage includes it, without extra rules attached.
Is midnight Eastern Time confirmed?
No. It is a labeled WhenGTA6 assumption because Rockstar has not published an unlock-hour table.
Are character ages confirmed?
No. Rockstar has not published ages for Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, or Cal Hampton.
Does a popular leak upgrade its status?
No. Popularity does not move a rumor into the confirmed column.
What is the short confirmed list?
See the confirmed features guide: date, consoles, price, preload week, dual protagonists, named Leonida regions, and a few shown activities.
