Rockstar confirmed November 19, 2026, not a complete first-party unlock schedule. Regional PlayStation Store listings checked in early September 2026 now point to midnight local time, which staggers the first session by as much as 19 hours from New Zealand to Mexico. Leonida Afterhours still uses midnight Eastern Time for the countdown, because that instant matches the reported US and Canadian store timestamps.
This article is the standing “what time” explainer. The dated store-window writeup is GTA 6 unlocks in New Zealand 19 hours before Mexico. The day itself is covered on the release date guide. Country notes live on release time by country. The short URL is what time does GTA 6 come out.

What is official, and what the stores are showing
Official: the calendar date and the two launch platforms (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S), on Rockstar’s VI site.
Not official: a Rockstar or Take-Two table titled “unlocks at 00:00 in every territory.”
Reported: regional PlayStation Store timestamps that line up with midnight local. GTAVice compiled those windows. That is why New Zealand can start on November 18 UTC while Mexico is still waiting on November 19 UTC.
Leonida Afterhours’s working timestamp is November 19, 2026, 12:00 a.m. Eastern. In November, the eastern United States is on standard time (UTC-5), so that instant is 2026-11-19T05:00:00.000Z. US PlayStation Store listings now point at that same second.
Xbox has not published a matching public table. If Microsoft later posts a different hour, the Xbox store wins for that console.

Until Rockstar posts a first-party table, treat PlayStation Store timestamps as the best public clocks and written Rockstar copy as the finish line.

FAQ
