Grand Theft Auto VI has not gone on sale as a playable product. The current revenue number on this tracker is not launched yet. Rockstar and Take-Two have not published a running pre-order dollar total, and Leonida Afterhours will not invent one so the headline looks finished.

List prices exist. Standard is $79.99. Ultimate is $99.99. Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026. Those facts tell you what a copy costs, not how much money the game has “made so far.” For units after launch, use sales. For development cost talk, use budget and label estimates as estimates. For CEO remarks, use Strauss Zelnick. For the sticker, use price.

Current tracker reading

This page is a tracker, not a victory lap. As of 1 September 2026 the product is still in the pre-launch window. Playable launch is November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC is unannounced. Digital preload starts November 12. Until customers can finish the install and play, retail copies sold are zero.

Metric Current reading Notes
Playable retail launch November 19, 2026 Official console date
Official lifetime revenue Not launched yet No first-party total to cite
Official pre-order dollar total Not published Do not invent a figure
Retail copies sold 0 (not launched yet) Pre-order is not a sold-through launch report
Standard list price $79.99 USD Price is not revenue
Ultimate list price $99.99 USD Digital-focused edition

If a video slaps a billion-dollar banner on a pre-order montage, ask for the Take-Two filing. If there is no filing, it is a guess. Take-Two’s site and Rockstar’s VI hub are the places that can change a cell on this table.

Why pre-order money is not a published total

Stores accepted reservations from June 25, 2026 at midnight local time. That can mean a charge now, a hold, or a later capture, depending on the retailer. None of those checkout flows is a public worldwide register that Rockstar updates by the hour.

We will not multiply an imagined attach rate by $79.99 and call it journalism. We will not scrape social “I pre-ordered” posts into a dollar graph. Analyst notes about the Grand Theft Auto catalog are a different genre from a live VI revenue ticker. When a publisher quarter names VI results after launch, that sentence can go here with a date.

Buy-before-November-20 extras (the Vintage Vice City Pack, and a month of GTA+ on digital) are promotional copy. They are not a sales report.

What Take-Two has actually said

Take-Two has confirmed delays and, later, confidence in the November 19, 2026 date through earnings and interviews. Those remarks are about schedule and the size of the franchise, not a live cash register for VI. Strauss Zelnick is the CEO to quote when he is on the record. This page will not put words in his mouth.

Development cost is also not a published final dollar figure. If you came from a “most expensive game ever” thumbnail, go to budget and keep the word estimate attached. Cost to make is not money made.

The homepage countdown is the metric that actually moves every day before launch. Revenue is not.

What this page will update after November 19

After launch, the tracker can grow rows: first-party unit comments, publisher earnings language, and platform-specific notes if they are official. We will still refuse unsourced “it made X overnight” graphics. Sales will carry unit talk. This URL stays money talk, and only money talk we can source.

Until that week, the honest dashboard is boring. Not launched yet. No official pre-order dollar total. Prices known. Date known. Check the countdown if you want a number that is allowed to tick.

FAQ

How much money has GTA 6 made so far?

The game has not launched. The current tracker reading is not launched yet. Rockstar has not published a pre-order revenue total.

Do pre-orders count as revenue?

Stores can take deposits. That is not the same as a public official running total from Rockstar or Take-Two. We will not invent one.

How much does GTA 6 cost?

Standard is $79.99 USD. Ultimate is $99.99 USD. Those are list prices, not money already booked as lifetime sales.

When will this tracker show a real number?

After November 19, 2026, when first-party or publisher-reported figures exist. Until then the line stays not launched yet.

How many pre-order units has GTA 6 sold?

Rockstar has not published a pre-order unit total. Leonida Afterhours will not invent one.

Do the $79.99 and $99.99 prices count as money already made?

No. Those are list prices. The game is not out, so lifetime sales are not a number you can cite.
