No. GTA 6 is not coming to PS4. Rockstar Games listed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for November 19, 2026. PlayStation 4 is absent from that sentence on rockstargames.com/VI and from the platforms and editions article. A shop selling a “PS4 key” for launch day is not selling an official SKU.

PS4 is not on the official launch list
GTA V spent years on last-gen hardware. VI is a different product. The platforms hub is two current families: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Series S is included in the Xbox line. PS4 is not a quiet third.
Pre-orders that opened June 25, 2026 are console current-gen orders. Standard is $79.99 USD. Ultimate is $99.99 USD and digital only. Those prices attach to PS5 and Xbox Series, not to a PS4 SKU.
Why last-gen is out
Rockstar has not published a PS4 build, a last-gen resolution target, or a “coming later to PS4” date. The Extended Look was captured on PlayStation 5. Trailers are marketing for the dated current-gen launch.
We will not invent a technical essay about why a 2013 console cannot hold Leonida. The publisher already chose the hardware list. That is enough.
| Hardware | Official launch status |
|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Confirmed, November 19, 2026 |
| Xbox Series X | Confirmed as part of Series X|S |
| Xbox Series S | Confirmed as part of Series X|S |
| PlayStation 4 | Not on the list |
| Xbox One | Not on the list |
| PC | Not announced |
Xbox One gets the same no. Use the Xbox One page if that is the box you own. Current Xbox questions sit on the Xbox guide. PC is a separate unannounced topic, not a PS4 consolation prize.
What hardware you actually need
A PlayStation 5, including a disc-capable or digital PS5, is the PlayStation path. Used PS5 stock counts as launch hardware. PS5 Pro is still a PS5-family machine. Pro-specific enhancements are not confirmed. You do not need to treat Pro as a secret last-gen replacement, and you do not need a Pro to leave PS4 behind.
Physical Standard is a code in a box with no disc, available November 12, 2026 for preload. A PS4 disc drive does not help you if there is no PS4 disc and no PS4 download.
Digital preload on PS5 begins November 12 at local midnight. Playable launch remains November 19. File size is unannounced.
Backward compatibility rumors
People hope a PS5 copy will “also run on PS4” the way some older games did in reverse. Rockstar has not published that program. There is no official last-gen SKU to stream, share, or play backward.
Game Pass does not put VI on a PS4. Steam does not put VI on a PS4. Those storefronts are either unannounced or on the wrong brand.
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the leads on the current-gen game. Their story is not a PS4 download. Cloud-play rumors and “PS4 streaming” threads are also unpublished. If you only own a PlayStation 4, the honest answer stays no until Rockstar writes a new platform line. As of September 1, 2026, that line still says PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
