Can you play GTA 6 on Xbox One? No. Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Xbox One is not on the official launch list. Searches for GTA 6 gameplay Xbox One are pulling fake last-gen clips, GTA V leftovers, or Series X footage with the wrong label. Rockstar’s VI hub does not sell an Xbox One SKU.

The official Xbox sentence
The Xbox sentence is Xbox Series X|S. That includes Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. It does not include Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X. Rockstar’s platform and editions support article and the buy page are the SKU list. If a retailer tile says Xbox One, the tile is wrong.
The matching last-gen PlayStation answer is the same shape: PS4 is not getting it. Current-gen Xbox details live on GTA 6 for Xbox. The full hardware list is platforms.
PC is unannounced. An Xbox One is not a substitute PC. A “Series X|S optimized” badge on an old GTA V listing is not VI.
Why Xbox One is not on the list
Rockstar built this generation of GTA around current hardware. Official long gameplay, Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look (August 27, 2026), was captured on PlayStation 5. That is a current-gen capture, not an Xbox One benchmark.
Last-gen RAM, storage, and CPU limits are the usual industry reason a 2026 GTA skips Xbox One. Rockstar has not published a technical essay that says “we cut Xbox One because of X.” We will not invent that essay. We will repeat the launch line: Series X|S, not One.
Smart Delivery on Xbox can install the right build when a game supports both generations. VI is not listed as an Xbox One game, so Smart Delivery is not a loophole. Buying an Xbox One disc of something else will not unlock Leonida.

Standard is $79.99 USD. Ultimate is $99.99 USD and digital only. Those prices are for the announced consoles. There is no official Xbox One price because there is no official Xbox One product. Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026. Preload is November 12, 2026 for digital Series X|S and PS5 copies.
Game Pass, backward compat, and fake gameplay
Will GTA 6 be on Game Pass is a separate unknown. Even if Microsoft later lists VI on Game Pass, that listing would target Series hardware unless Rockstar adds last-gen, which it has not. Do not buy an Xbox One hoping a subscription saves the generation.
“GTA 6 gameplay Xbox One” videos are a fact-check problem, not a store SKU. Mods, AI, and mislabeled Series footage do not create a last-gen build. We do not host leaked gameplay. Watch official films on the VI hub.
If your only box is an Xbox One, you need a Series X or Series S (or a PS5) to play VI on November 19, 2026. That is the whole last-gen answer.
