Two official delays. The 2025 trailer window was the starting promise, then two dated slips. There is no official third delay after November 6, 2025. Social posts that shout “delayed again” in 2026 without a new Rockstar newswire are recycling the old news.

Why the date moved, and what was not said
Rockstar’s public notes on the slips were about needing more time, not about cancellation. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has spoken on earnings calls about delay decisions and later about confidence in November 19. We are not inventing extra quotes. If you want the attributed remarks collected in one place, that belongs on a Zelnick page once it exists.
Rockstar did not attach a 2028 date to either delay. It did not pull the game from the schedule. Pre-orders still opened June 25, 2026. Standard is $79.99 USD. Ultimate is $99.99 USD and digital only. A company that has cancelled a product does not usually keep selling it at those prices.
PC was not part of either delay note, because PC was never on the launch card.

As of this page’s verification date, no. November 19, 2026 remains the launch day. Digital preload is November 12, 2026 at local midnight. Buy before November 20, 2026 and you still get the Vintage Vice City Pack.
If a new official delay lands, this timeline should gain a row. A leaked spreadsheet or a “trust me” screenshot is not a row. The Extended Look on August 27, 2026 (about 26 minutes of PS5-captured gameplay) is marketing for the current date, not a hidden slip.

Cancellation rumors and the 2028 myth
“Cancelled” and “2028” travel together because both are easy to screenshot. Neither is an official product state. Rockstar has not cancelled Grand Theft Auto VI. It has not replaced November 19, 2026 with 2028.
Last-gen consoles were never on the launch list, so their absence is not a delay. File size and 60 FPS are unannounced. Those gaps are not proof of another slip.
