Amazon is a storefront, not a third edition. Rockstar’s editions article still lists Standard and Ultimate. If the Amazon title says Collector, Deluxe, or “includes a statue,” you are looking at a shop bundle or a marketplace listing.
What a safe Amazon listing looks like
Check the platform line first. It should say PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. It should not say PS4, Xbox One, Switch, or PC.
Then check the price. Official USD prices are $79.99 and $99.99. A $249 “limited” buy box is not a Rockstar SKU. A $19.99 “digital key” from a third-party seller is how people lose the money and the license.
Sold by and fulfilled by matter more on Amazon than they do on the PlayStation Store. Prefer Amazon or a known retailer as the seller. Read the edition name against the pre-order hub before you click buy.

Physical Amazon boxes are still code-in-box
People order from Amazon because they want a box on the porch. That box, if it is official Standard, holds a code. It does not hold a playable disc. Physical vs digital is the longer explanation.
Ultimate does not get a porch box from Rockstar. Ultimate is digital. If Amazon shows a cardboard Ultimate, treat it as a listing error or a reseller inventing a product.
Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026 at midnight local. Buy before November 20, 2026 for the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital copies also include one month of GTA+. Those bonuses come from Rockstar’s window, not from Amazon Prime.
Amazon is not the only official path
PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, the Rockstar buy page, Best Buy, and GameStop sell the same two editions. Amazon is useful when you already have a card on file and you want physical Standard shipped.
It is a worse place to hunt for leaks, keys, or “early access codes.” Those listings are not how Rockstar distributes VI.
